On April 14, 1981, in Honolulu, Hawaii, William Bill Melton incorporated his new tech company. The original intention was to provide a recourse for retailers who’d been swindled by people handing out bad checks.

Bill's product was a kind of verification device using phone lines a verification phone.

But then a pivot. The credit card industry was relatively new at the time and processing was still being done with carbon paper.

Bill saw a way to reduce costs for companies like Visa and MasterCard, while capitalizing on this new technology. Instead of verifying checks, we would provide local businesses a means to electronically process credit card payments.

The Verifone payment device was born.

Your new team

In our office in Hammarbysjöstad, Stockholm we are a dedicated and highly skilled team of 10 technical specialists responsible for making payment solutions work for our Swedish customers and partners.

We help them integrate, configure and manage their payment solutions as well as handling security in the global transaction network that is the backbone of Verifone payment solutions.

We are payment solution experts, 2nd line support, key resources in projects and trusted technical advisers to all our customers and partners.

Your new role

Now we are looking for someone to add to this already successful team. With developed skills in integration, you will help our customers and partners to integrate their e-

commerce or ECR / POS / cash system, with our payment solutions. You will guide and help them through the process of adopting the next generation of payment solutions.

You will take a lead role within the Swedish organization to drive, prepare and verify new products, services and solutions.

Your new tasks and responsibilities

  • You will provide expertise around integration of payment card terminals and e-commerce for customers and partners
  • You will perform the role of the technical adviser to customer teams and be the technical partner in providing solutions to complex problems
  • You will be expected to explain and educate both customers and partners in integration protocols with help from specifications, documentations and code examples.
  • Providing 2nd line support you will handle problems, troubleshooting the issue, and handling the incident through to successful resolution.
  • You will also contribute to internal projects as a technical authority.
  • You will lead test, verification and knowledge transfer of new services, products and solutions from a customer focused and technical perspective
  • Liaising with 3rd Line Support, you will discuss and report technical questions for resolution or further development
  • You will also be responsible for assisting in the improvement and development of internal tools for testing and troubleshooting etc
  • Do you enjoy solving complex problems, where nothing is impossible? Do you enjoy applying your technical mind set and programming experience to satisfy customers?

    You will be customer focused and service minded and like to talk technical solutions with customers and colleagues, along with a big interest in learning new things.

    Your experience and background

  • Education to degree level, or equivalent, in an IT or Computer Science related subject
  • Solid programming skills
  • Experience in a technical customer facing role, e.g. 1st or 2nd line support, technical project management, TAM or consultant
  • Experience within the payment industry is a distinct advantage but not essential. E.g. from e-commerce and cash registers / ECR / POS.
